Kate Sherry is an associate solicitor with the Healthcare team at Hayes solicitors. Kate works in healthcare litigation, defending clinical negligence claims against public hospitals and private clinicians.

Prior to joining Hayes, Kate worked for a number of leading law firms, gaining extensive experience acting on behalf of both Defendants and Plaintiffs. Kate has represented clients at all levels, including District Court, Circuit Court, High Court and Supreme Court.

Experience

  • Medical negligence defence - In her role at Hayes, Kate acts on behalf of clinical practitioners and indemnity bodies, as part of a team-based approach, in investigating and advising on catastrophic injury and defective medicinal product claims.
  • Plaintiff litigation – Kate has previously advised Plaintiffs in respect of medical negligence matters, including obstetric, surgical, gynaecological, oncological, catastrophic and fatal injury claims.
  • Kate also has extensive experience in the area of criminal defence litigation.
