Laura is a senior associate solicitor in the Commercial and Business team in Hayes Solicitors.

She practices in commercial litigation and dispute resolution and acts for a broad range of clients, including companies, financial institutions, State bodies and individuals.

Laura advises on a wide range of commercial and business law matters and regulatory requirements, including data protection law, company law issues and commercial contracts.

Experience

Civil Litigation – advising on the prosecution and defence of commercial claims, shareholder disputes and general commercial disputes, including injunctive relief applications, property disputes and breach of contract claims.

Regulatory matters – advising professionals on regulatory and disciplinary matters in both litigious non-litigious contexts, including defending fitness to practise complaints and civil and criminal matters in the professional sphere. Laura has assisted in defending professional negligence actions and internal appeals to committees of professional bodies.

Defamation – defending numerous high-value defamation claims.

Data protection law – advising clients on their data protection obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation and EU digital regulatory frameworks.

Debt Proceedings and Enforcement – advising clients on debt recovery proceedings and enforcement of security. Laura has experience enforcing security in Australia, having acted for several Australian banks. She also worked with the National Asset Management Agency, assisting with the completion of large loan portfolio sales.
