Prior to COVID-19, the housing crisis was at the forefront of national debate and there is no doubt it was the key issue which dominated the recent general election. The crisis has been further impacted by the halting of construction work in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the last few weeks actions taken by both the state and lenders to support customers have resulted in supports, such as the well-publicised three month moratoriums offered to customers, being put in place swiftly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 6 April 2020, the Data Protection Commission (the “Commission”) published its report following an examination of the use of cookies and similar technologies by 38 websites across a range of industries including insurance, food delivery services and media and publishing. 

The sudden spread of COVID-19 and its impact on domestic and international business in Ireland has created huge disruption and uncertainty for companies across all sectors.

Many businesses over the past few days will have found themselves in the position of having to quickly close their doors as they do not provide an essential service.
