In Dowman Imports Ltd v 2 Toobz Ltd [2020] EWHC 291 (Comm), the English High Court recently held that the respondent was unjustly enriched and awarded restitution to a claimant who provided services where a contract was anticipated, but not concluded.

The High Court has struck down legislation providing for the setting of certain minimum pay and conditions for a number of workers in various economic sectors, which are traditionally covered by mandatory collective arrangements. 

As restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 are now being lifted, businesses are actively adjusting to the new normal and the most effective method of trading during this period and into the future.
