A previous article discussed The Competition (Amendment) Bill 2022 (the “Bill”), which was published in late January. By way of reminder, the Bill aims to ensure stricter compliance with Competition law and proper overall functioning of the internal market.

The HSE published its first National Consent Policy in 2013 (the “2013 Policy”) and on 28 March 2022, the HSE launched a revised National Consent Policy (the “2022 Policy”) to reflect important legislative and policy changes that have occurred since 2013.

The Irish Government recently published the draft Statutory Sick Leave Bill 2021 (the “Bill”) which was approved by Cabinet on 30 March 2022. It provides for minimum statutory sick pay (SSP) for all employees, if they are incapable of working due to illness or injury.

The European Union (Unfair Trading Practices in the agricultural and food supply chain) Regulations 2021 (“UTP Regulations”) came into effect on 1 July 2021.  There is an important deadline coming up at the end of April (2022) regarding compliance with the UTP Regulations.

The Competition (Amendment) Bill 2022 was recently published by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

The Protected Disclosures (amendment) Bill 2022 was published by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath TD, on 09 February 2022 and has cast the subject of protected disclosures/whistleblowing into the limelight once again.
