The European Union (Preventive Restructuring) Regulations 2022 (the “Regulations”) were signed into law on Friday, 29 July 2022 by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

Under the Act, employees will be entitled to 70% of their daily earnings up to a maximum of €110 a day for three days, which will be payable by their employer. The allowance will increase to five days in 2024, 7 days in 2025, and 10 days in 2026. The days can be consecutive or non-consecutive days.
