Data Protection – represents clients in data protection cases and regulatory investigations, assists companies in managing data breaches, including notification and remediation strategies, crafts clear and compliant privacy policies and policy documentation, provides strategic advice to clients on how to deal with data subject requests, including data access and erasure requests, conducts data protection impact assessments and provides training programmes and workshops to clients to educate clients on data protection compliance and best practice.
Artificial Intelligence- provides strategic advice on all aspects of artificial intelligence, including the EU AI Act and data protection and intellectual property issues that arise in the context of artificial intelligence.
Competition Law – represents individuals and businesses in Competition Authority investigations and has assisted clients in notifying mergers to the Competition Authority.
Commercial contracts – provides ongoing commercial advices to a multinational consumer goods client, which includes reviewing and drafting commercial contracts.
Advertising and Marketing – dedicated legal advisor to the Institute of Advertising Practitioners and the Association of Promotional Marketing Consultants and advises many of Ireland’s marketing and advertising agencies on advertising and marketing law, data protection requirements, and gambling and gaming legislation.
Financial services – advising one of Ireland’s largest credit unions on general commercial issues. This includes drafting and reviewing complex commercial agreements, including those concerning complex electronic funds transfers.
Media –advises The Irish Times on IT matters, including drafting terms and conditions for its websites and smartphone applications.
Laura is a member of the International Network of Privacy Professionals and often contributes to articles for this organisation. Laura is often invited to speak as a data protection expert by various organisations, including the Law Society of Ireland, CMG Events and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
