“A new form to be used by liquidators when making reports to the Corporate Enforcement Authority pursuant to Section 682 of the Companies Act 2014 has been introduced."

There have been recent press reports that care homes could face criminal prosecution arising from deaths that occurred within the homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

This case involves a clinical negligence claim by the plaintiff in respect of treatment provided at the second named defendant hospital while under the care of the first defendant.

In a recent written judgment of Dublin Circuit Court (Kaminski v BallyMaguire Foods Ltd [2023] IECC 5,  a plaintiff was awarded €2,000 in compensation for “non-material damage” – in other words, non-financial loss such as anxiety or distress – in a data breach claim.
