Mediation

At Hayes solicitors, we are committed to and have a keen interest in the use of mediation.

Expertise

Mediation has a key role to play in early resolution of disputes. The Mediation Act 2017 has made a positive impact on the resolution of commercial, healthcare and workplace disputes, promoting the benefits of mediation and leading to an increase in the use of mediation in civil litigation proceedings.

While we litigate, we also encourage mediation and early dispute resolution as pragmatic responses to disputes, avoiding litigation for our clients where possible in order to provide the most cost-effective service.

Our accredited mediators are available to discuss mediation and to be engaged for mediation processes, if required.

Experience

We have four highly experienced and respected accredited mediators who are committed to exploring alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in all kinds of disputes, including in corporate/commercial, healthcare litigation, property and workplace disputes.

We have participated in mediations both prior to litigation, and during the course of litigation, involving several parties including employers/employees, insurers, public bodies, charities and multinational corporations, concerning commercial, boardroom, charity trustee and shareholder disputes. We adopt a commercially pragmatic approach to dispute issues and have presented to solicitors nationwide on the role and benefits of mediation.

We have trained workplace mediators with Legal Island and we are actively involved in the Irish Commercial Mediation Association, a not-for-profit organisation, which promotes mediation as a means to resolve commercial disputes early.
