Kate is a solicitor in the Healthcare team at Hayes solicitors. Kate advises clinical practitioners, hospitals and indemnity bodies in respect of the defence of medical and dental negligence claims. She also works with one of the largest healthcare regulatory bodies in respect of professional disciplinary matters.
Kate joined Hayes solicitors in 2019 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 2021. Prior to joining the firm Kate gained experience in another established Legal 500 and Chambers ranked Dublin firm, where she assisted in the preparation of statutory inquiries, working with several healthcare regulators in the context of professional disciplinary matters.
Kate assists in the defence of medical negligence claims at High Court and Circuit Court level.
Her caseload includes a wide range of matters, including obstetric and gynaecological injuries, birth and spinal injury claims, orthopaedic injury issues, alleged surgical mistakes, and claims alleging delay in diagnosis.
She assists as part of a team on high value catastrophic injury claims, which require detailed investigations and analysis of liability and quantum.
She advises in the defence of dental claims, including surgical errors, misdiagnosis and delay in dental treatment and informed consent and record keeping.
