Liam Dempsey - Solicitor

Liam Dempsey is a newly qualified solicitor on the Commercial and Business team at Hayes solicitors. Since qualification, Liam has advised on a range of commercial, regulatory and contractual issues. Liam practices across a wide range of practice areas, including Commercial Litigation, Judicial Review, Commercial Agreements and Corporate Governance and Compliance.

Liam joined Hayes solicitors LLP in January 2021 as a trainee and qualified in December 2023.

Experience

Since qualification, Liam has advised in the following areas:

  1. Corporate Governance and Compliance: Liam has advised various companies (both companies limited by guarantee and private limited companies) in updating their constitutional and governance documents to ensure that they are in compliance with their legal and regulatory requirements. Liam has also advised a number of charitable clients in respect of their obligations under the Charities Act 2009 and their interaction with the Charities Regulator, including on the role of the Director and Trustee in charitable organisations.
  2. Commercial Contracts– Liam has reviewed, drafted and negotiated various commercial agreements on behalf of private clients including service agreements, agency agreements, distribution agreements and partnership agreements.
  1. Commercial Law Dispute Resolution –Liam has assisted in advising companies and individuals in relation to commercial disputes, including, injunctive relief applications, landlord and tenant commercial disputes, breach of contract and breaches of company law obligations.

  • Master of Laws (LLM) – Queen’s University Belfast, 2015
  • Professional qualification as a solicitor, Law Society of Ireland, 2023
