Denise O’Shaughnessy - Associate
Denise is an associate solicitor in the Commercial and Business team at Hayes solicitors. She advises clients on a variety of commercial and business law matters including drafting, negotiation and review of commercial contracts and advising companies and state bodies in relation to their data protection obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation.
Denise also advises clients in respect of commercial litigation and insolvency.
Prior to joining Hayes, Denise worked in the corporate insolvency and commercial litigation department of another leading Dublin firm advising large and small companies, financial institutions, private equity firms, State and semi-State bodies, liquidators and receivers.

Experience
- Drafting policies to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, including data processing agreements and privacy policies.
- Advised a client in relation to statutory interpretation and statutory appeals.
- Advised clients in respect of complex contractual claims, commercial landlord and tenant claims, enforcement and recovery actions in the Circuit, High and Commercial Court.
- Acted on behalf of a Liquidator seeking restriction orders against directors of a company in liquidation.
- Acted on behalf of liquidators (provisional and court appointed) and receivers on all aspects of insolvency law.

- Corp Law, National University of Ireland, Galway
- Diploma in Irish for the legal profession, National University of Ireland, Galway
- LLM in Commercial Law, University College Dublin
- Professional qualification as a solicitor, Law Society of Ireland, 2018
- Certificate in Commercial Contracts, Law Society of Ireland, 2021
