In preparation for the ever-looming Brexit, which is currently due to happen on the 31 January this year, many European Employee Fora and European Works Councils (“EWCs”) situated in the UK are reconsidering their location and looking to Ireland as their new hub.

The UK High Court has ruled that the European Medicines Agency (“the EMA”) is tied to its obligations under its lease with its landlord, the Canary Wharf group, in relation to its commercial premises in London.

In the recent High Court decision of AIB Plc –v- Sean Buckley [2019] IEHC 97 (Mr Justice Garrett Simmons) the Court Ruled that the Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears (the “Code”) applied to the commercial loan which formed the subject matter of the proceedings.
