Robbie Slattery - Partner

Robbie is a partner in the Commercial & Business team at Hayes solicitors.

As part of Robbie’s corporate work, he advises on items such as shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, joint ventures, business sales and business purchases.

Robbie advises on commercial litigation with a particular focus on high value, multi-party litigation, for corporate clients, State entities, charities and private individuals, both on the Plaintiff and Defence side. Robbie has experience in utilising Alternative Dispute Resolution such as arbitration and mediation. Robbie’s commercial advisory work includes review and drafting of commercial contracts, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Public Procurement issues.

Prior to joining Hayes, Robbie practised as a barrister from 2006, primarily in the area of commercial litigation advising upon the prosecution and defence of high value and complex actions.

Experience

  • Drafting, and advices on, transactional documents including shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Day-to-day involvement in complex multi-party and class action type litigation
  • Advocacy before the Courts on Constitutional and European Convention of Human Rights issues
  • Review and advisory work in connection with commercial contracts with a transactional value of over £100 million (GBP)
  • Review of international services contracts involving Data Protection, e-commerce, IT infrastructure, website hosting and business continuity services
  • Aviation law, including advices on Charter Agreements, Wet Lease and Dry Lease Agreement, Standard Ground Handling Agreements, aviation specific IT infrastructure agreements and passenger claims
  • Representing the State Claims Agency in respect of Employer/ Public Liability claims.

Qualifications/Education

  • Professional qualification as a solicitor, Law Society of Ireland, 2013
  • Professional qualification as a barrister, Kings Inns
  • Diploma in Commercial Litigation, Law Society of Ireland
  • Master of Laws in Commercial Law degree, University College Dublin.
