Laura is a solicitor in the Commercial and Business team at Hayes solicitors. She has worked on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, and contractual issues both contentious and advisory. 

Laura joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2021 and qualified in 2023.

Experience

  • Insolvency/Receiverships – Laura was recently involved in advising a large property finance company on the enforcement of its security against a defaulting debtor and drafting the relevant enforcement documentation for the valid appointment of a receiver.
  • Data Protection/Privacy Law – involved in advising as local counsel for Ireland on matters relating to data protection and privacy law in the context of medical health records and medically assisted reproduction for the European Commission project EuMAR (European monitoring of Medically Assisted Reproduction).
  • Commercial Contracts – Laura has assisted in reviewing and drafting various commercial agreements.
  • Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution – part of the mediation team acting for an international corporate partner in a high-value partnership dispute resulting in a favourable settlement for the client.
  • Debt recovery proceedings – Involved in acting for an international manufacturing company in debt recovery proceedings against an Irish registered company in the Irish courts.
  • Regulatory and Administrative Law - Laura has assisted in defending professional negligence and misconduct actions before Fitness to Practice Inquiries carried out by the statutory regulator.
  • Laura has also drafted stakeholder submissions to the Law Reform Commission’s Consultation Paper on the proposed introduction of third-party litigation funding in Ireland. These submissions were included in the preparation of a final report to the Irish Government setting out the LRC’s recommendations.
