Katie is a Solicitor in the Employment Law team at Hayes Solicitors.

Katie advises both employees and employers on a range of HR and employment law issues, in relation to contentious and non-contentious matters, including employment contracts and workplace policies, compromise arrangements and redundancies, industrial relations matters, unfair dismissals and disciplinary matters.   

Katie joined the firm as a trainee in 2018 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2020.

Her expertise includes contract drafting and review, restrictive covenant drafting and analysis, negotiating terminations and settlements, supporting workplace mediations, planning and implementing redundancy programmes, advising on global workers and posted workers, navigating the way through employee disputes and advising on working time law.

  • Termination of employment and redundancy scenarios (including collective redundancies).
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures, internal investigations, suspensions, disciplinary hearings and appeals.
  • Statutory compliance including maternity, paternity and parental rights, working time, payment of wages, health and safety, notice periods, equality, fixed-term, part-time and agency workers, data protection and protected disclosures.
  • Posted Workers and European Works Councils
  • Drafting and reviewing Contracts of Employment and workplace policies and procedures including employee handbooks, disciplinary procedures, bullying and harassment policies, data protection and privacy notices and whistleblowing policies.
  • Employee disputes and litigation.

  • Professional qualification as a solicitor, Law Society of Ireland, 2020
