Adrian Neary - Senior Associate

Adrian is a senior associate in the Healthcare team at Hayes solicitors. Adrian works in healthcare litigation, defending clinical negligence claims against public hospitals and private clinicians.  He trained in Hayes Solicitors and has recently returned to the firm having practised elsewhere since qualifying.

Prior to re-joining Hayes solicitors, Adrian worked with two highly regarded plaintiff firms. He also has experience of working in the area of insurance defence litigation with a particular focus on professional indemnity claims. He has extensive experience in representing clients in the Circuit Court and High Court as well as at Inquests.

Experience

  • Medical negligence defence - In his role in Hayes, Adrian advises clinical practitioners and indemnity bodies on the defence of medical negligence claims. He assists in investigating and advising on catastrophic injury claims as part of a team based approach.
  • Plaintiff & Defendant litigation - Adrian has had involvement in personal injury actions of the utmost severity, both on behalf of defendants and plaintiffs. This has involved managing a challenging case load of personal injury actions from District up to High Court. Adrian has previously advised plaintiffs in respect of medical negligence matters, a wide variety of personal injuries matters and fatal injuries cases, including representing families at inquests.
  • Insurance defence - Adrian has previously managed a large caseload of professional indemnity, employer’s liability, public liability, motor and property damage claims. These cases involved adopting strategies to facilitate the best possible outcome for the client and included defending other professionals including architects, accountants and engineers as well as advising on insurance policy coverage and indemnity issues.

  • Masters in Law, Technology & Governance, National University of Ireland Galway, 2010.
  • Bachelor of Laws Degree, National University of Ireland Galway, 2007.
  • Bachelor of Corporate Law, National University of Ireland Galway, 2006.
