Commercial Law Survey, April 2019
David Phelan, Managing Partner, spoke to Business Plus Magazine.
Practice: The 2018 appointment of Ken Casey as partner to head our new corporate law department has gone extremely well, thanks to the support of our clients. We have had an ongoing strong flow of high level corporate and transaction work. As the year went on and as some of the transactions have completed, they have been replaced with a consistent flow of new work. This has come from a combination of our existing clients and exciting new client wins. In the last year, we also promoted new partners in each of our healthcare, property and commercial departments. All of our new partners are experts in their field and are an example of promoting lawyers of the highest calibre to ensure first-class service to clients. The spread of work types they cover shows the range of services offered through our firm.
Notable Deal: We were delighted to act for the vendor in the sale of the Giraffe Childcare business to Busy Bees. The deal was a great vote of confidence in a domestic Irish business, and in the management and staff of a fantastic childcare provider. It was one of the bigger transactions during the course of the year and was a demonstration of confidence in the Irish economy.
USP: We offer a combination of experience, expertise, quality of service, responsive, trustworthiness and value for money. We also offer a partner-led service. We make sure we understand our clients’ business, and are focused on achieving the best value outcome for them in an efficient and practical way.
