John Glynn - Associate

John is an associate solicitor in the Banking and Financial Services team at Hayes solicitors. He specialises in advising lending institutions, corporate and personal clients in the area of domestic and cross border finance transactions.  He advises clients in the general areas of taking of security and also remediating existing security issues. 

As part of the Banking and Financial Services team, John’s primary focus is advising lending institutions and borrowers on leveraged/ acquisition, commercial property, construction/development and SME finance transactions. John joined Hayes from RBS Capital Resolutions Ireland Limited where he gained extensive experience in large and small loan portfolios sales and deleveraging.

Experience

  • John has a broad range of banking law experience. Prior to joining Hayes solicitors John had both in-house and practice experience - John was in-house legal counsel at Ulster Bank Group and then RBS Capital Resolution Ireland Limited
  • John advised on the area of large value portfolio loan book sales such as RCRI’s Project Aran
  • John has extensive experience regarding the review of existing security and providing advices to client around the remediation of existing security issues
  • John provided general in-house retail banking advices and other areas of legal risk
  • John also advised on such areas of Payments Regulations, Banking Codes and Regulations
  • John has advised and managed large scale security identification and remediation projects
  • John also has extensive experience advising financial institutions and large corporate clients in the area of debt recovery litigation and High Court Recovery litigation
  • John has advised receivers in relation to their appointment and their duties and obligations
  • John has acted on behalf of receivers in the sale of assets post enforcement.

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor of Science, NUI. Galway
  • Diploma in Legal Studies, Dublin Institute of Technology
  • Professional qualification as a solicitor, Law Society of Ireland, 2011
  • Diploma in Finance Law, Law Society of Ireland.
