James is regularly involved in high value, complex commercial disputes progressing through the Commercial Court. James also advises one of the country’s leading retailers on defamation law matters.

James also advises a variety of corporate clients on general commercial and intellectual property matters. He also assists with the review and drafting of commercial contracts.

James joined the firm as a trainee in 2015 and qualified in 2017.

  • Commercial litigation – James is regularly involved in commercial disputes in the High Court, Commercial Court and Court of Appeal representing a variety of financial institutions and private companies.
  • Enforcement disputes – James represents financial institutions in high value enforcement matters before the High Court.
  • Receiverships – James advises on receivership matters and has extensive experience in carrying out security reviews highlighting any potential issues.
  • Intellectual property – James advises companies in relation to registering trademarks globally and has been involved in a number of disputes including asserting rights over various trademarks.
  • Debt Recovery – James advises private companies in relation to debt recovery proceedings before the District Court, Circuit Court and High Court.
